Protection Module BXT ML4 BD 5 – BD 180 is a space-saving combined lightning current and surge arrester module with LifeCheck feature for protecting two pairs of unearthed balanced interfaces. BLITZDUCTOR XT combined arresters are pluggable and universal multipole DIN rail mounted lightning current and surge arresters for protecting measuring and control circuits, bus systems and telecommunication systems. LifeCheck allows quick and easy testing of arresters without ever removing the module from the system. Integrated in the protection modules, LifeCheck permanently monitors the operating state of the arrester and acts like an early warning system, detecting imminent electrical or thermal overload of the protection components. If LifeCheck detects thermal or electrical overload, the arrester has to be replaced. This status is indicated contactlessly by the DEHNrecord LC / SCM / MCM reader.
